Terminal Server Installation

While doing a Terminal Server Installation, care needs to be taken to ensure that all users can access the folders and sub-folders into which the files are installed.

 

NOTE: This installation will require a Re-Start of the Operating System

 

 

Simply follow the steps below and ADLForms will be ready to use.

 

1.

Connect to the Internet and proceed to the ADL Software web site (www.adlsoftware.com), and click on <Download Now> under the ADLForms section. Select your state if prompted

 

2.

Click on the download link, <Click here to download the ADLForms Installation>

 

3.

Select to <Save> the file

 

If prompted to 'Save to Disk' or 'Run from Current Location', select 'Save to Disk' (DISK meaning the computer's hard drive)

 

4.

Choose a folder on your computer to save the file to (i.e. C:/Downloads or C:/My Documents etc) and note this folder as you will need it later

 

NOTE: Do not change the name of the file from 'ADLForms_Setup.exe'

 

5.

Press the <Save> button to begin the download

 

If prompted to overwrite an existing file named 'ADLForms_Setup.exe' then click <OK> or <Yes>

 

6.

If presented with an <Open this Folder> button when the download is complete, use it and proceed to Step 9, if not please continue to Step 7

 

7.

Now locate the folder in your computer or network, where the file was downloaded to (as noted in step 3) by using 'My Computer' (usually found as a link on Desktop) or 'Windows Explorer' (usually found in the 'Start' menu, in 'Programs' and under 'Accessories')

 

8.

Double-click on the file named 'ADLForms_Setup.exe'

 

9.

Select 'Custom Installation' and click <Next>

 

10.

Select all the 'Components' and click <Next>

 

11.

Specify an 'Installation Directory', If <Drive>ADLForms is accessible by all users, leave it as is and click <Next>

 

12.

Change the 'Fonts Installation Directory' to <Drive>ADLForms\Fonts and click <Next>

 

13.

Change the 'System32 Installation Directory' to <Drive>ADLForms\System32 and click <Next>

 

14.

Click <Next>

 

Restart your computer if prompted

 

15.

Open Windows Explorer and open <Drive>Windows\Fonts Directory

 

16.

Select 'Install Font...' from the 'File' Menu

 

17.

Double click on the <Drive>ADLForms\Fonts Folder and tick the 'Copy Fonts to Fonts Folder' tick box

 

18.

Click <Select All> and then click <Install>

 

19.

When prompted, click <OK>

 

20.

Start ADLForms by double-clicking on the ADLForms Icon on your desktop

If prompted, read and agree to the ADLForms Client License Agreement and hit the <Continue> button

 

21.

If prompted with an ADLForms Registration screen, select the 'I am a registered ADLForms user and wish to enter my registration now' option and click the <Proceed> button then refer to step 4 of Express Registration

If prompted with an Invalid Registration screen, click on the <Open ADLForms in an Unregistered Mode> button and refer to Express Registration

 

23.

To avoid users doing Auto Updates, follow the instructions below;

 

Click <Options> from within the ADLForms Main Menu and select the 'Settings' tab

 

Un-tick the checkbox which says 'Allow this user to run Auto-updates'

 

Click <Save> then <Exit>

 

 

NOTE: To update the ADLForms program, login as the Administrator and Tick the 'Allow this user to run Auto-updates' checkbox. Use the Update Button on the Main Menu of the ADLForms program to update the software. We recommend that you update ADLForms on a weekly basis.
